Greg grew up in San Luis Obispo and attended elementary, high school and Cal Poly. He worked at Forden’s through High School and College selling housewares and keeping the books, and even washed dishes at Madonna Inn. He married his high school sweetheart in his last year at Cal Poly and settled down for 40 years in Bakersfield. In 2019, they built a house in Templeton and moved back to the Central Coast to stay.
After growing a CPA practice, he sold his interest in 1998 and then grew an LED lighting company in Los Angeles where he even got a patent in his name. But his previous CPA clients asked him to come back and consult with them to grow their businesses. So for the past 20 years, he has been a board member and strategic partner in the businesses to grow and sometimes sell the businesses. This process resulted in business owners with a pile of cash and not knowing what to do to enjoy life and be carefree. So they often would put the money in Trusts and ask Greg to be the Trustee. The word got out that his Trustee services were of high integrity and he could handle tax and financial matters, so he started being a Trustee to others. In 2018 he got licensed by the California Fiduciary Bureau after taking the course work and exams. Before leaving Bakersfield he mentored an able Jamie Urner, CLPF to take over his Trustee cases in Kern County. She can now be found at Kern Fiduciary Services, Inc.
Greg understands the complexities of family relationships, and the emotions that go along with finances. And he also understands what peace of mind brings to those that struggle with keeping their assets safe, providing for a lifestyle and minimizing taxes. His services as a Trustee are not a fit for everyone, but his time is free if you want to call and discuss your needs with him.
